Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Electrical Focus)

Job Summary: As a Maintenance Technician with a focus on electrical systems, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of equipment and facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical components and systems to minimize downtime and optimize performance. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Electrical Maintenance and Repair:

    • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
    • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability and longevity of electrical components.
    • Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using diagnostic tools and techniques.
    • Repair or replace faulty electrical wiring, switches, circuit breakers, and other components as needed.
    • Test electrical systems to identify and resolve issues related to voltage, current, and resistance.
  2. Equipment Maintenance:

    • Conduct routine inspections of machinery, HVAC systems, lighting fixtures, and other equipment to detect potential problems.
    • Lubricate moving parts, clean equipment surfaces, and perform minor adjustments to maintain optimal functionality.
    • Coordinate with other maintenance personnel to schedule and prioritize repairs based on urgency and impact on operations.
  3. Safety and Compliance:

    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
    • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and standards applicable to maintenance activities.
    • Identify and address potential safety hazards, such as exposed wiring, overloaded circuits, and defective equipment.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs performed.
    • Document equipment specifications, parts inventory, and maintenance schedules for reference and reporting purposes.
    • Prepare reports summarizing maintenance activities, highlighting trends, and recommending improvements.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with other maintenance team members, supervisors, and departmental staff to coordinate repair efforts and minimize disruptions.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on maintenance activities, schedule changes, and equipment status.
    • Participate in training programs and knowledge-sharing sessions to stay informed about new technologies, best practices, and safety procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in electrical systems preferred.
  • Proven experience working as a maintenance technician with a focus on electrical systems in industrial or commercial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical principles, including wiring diagrams, circuitry, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with electrical testing equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and voltage testers.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and regulations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects.
  • Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Tolerance for working in varying environmental conditions, including temperature extremes and noisy surroundings.

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
