Job Title: Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide essential support and care to clients in their homes or residential facilities. The PCA will assist with daily living activities, ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of clients while promoting their independence and dignity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Support clients with mobility and physical activities, such as walking, transferring from bed to chair, and using assistive devices.
  • Prepare and serve meals, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing living spaces.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any adverse reactions.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in meaningful activities and conversation.
  • Assist with transportation needs, including accompanying clients to medical appointments, shopping, and social outings.
  • Monitor and report changes in clients' health, behavior, and overall well-being to supervisors or healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided, following all confidentiality and privacy regulations.
  • Follow care plans and instructions provided by healthcare professionals and supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Home Health Aide (HHA) preferred.
  • Previous experience in personal care or a related field is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and assisting clients.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Working Conditions:

  • Work may be performed in clients' homes, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes.
  • May involve exposure to various health conditions and environments.
  • Flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required.
