Lead Carpenter

Watson And Son Construction is seeking an experienced lead carpenter to oversee new home and remodeling construction projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in carpentry and be capable of leading a team to ensure high-quality workmanship and timely project completion.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of carpenters and other construction workers
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- Install structures and fixtures such as windows, doors, cabinets, and built-in furniture
- Collaborate with contractors, construction workers, electricians, plumbers, and other professionals
- Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations
- Train and mentor junior carpenters
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a carpenter, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- In-depth knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods, as well as construction and building codes
- Proficient in using hand and power tools
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in carpentry is a plus
