SUMMARY

As a Direct Support Professional I, will be responsible for providing person-centered service to PDI people served, as well as supervising and supporting them, along with your teammates. Their role will also involve documenting and implementing individual service and group support plans responsible for providing person-centered service to PDI people served, as well as supervising and supporting them. Individual Care, Support, and Management

We ensure that each person receives the necessary and skillful assistance with their activities of daily living, including basic ADLs and functional mobility or transferring.   • PDI has implemented a new system to better organize and manage daily services for our assigned people served. This will help us maintain group supervision and provide person-centered support to those in need. Additionally, we have trained staff who can assist people served with the use of adaptive equipment. We understand the importance of flexibility and can rotate schedules according to individual needs. Continued dedication and support are a must in providing the best care for our people served. PDI staff are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.


Group Administration


Assessment & Support:
Assess individual capabilities and provide tailored assistance during activities. Continuously monitor safety, engagement, and progress, adapting support strategies as needed. Foster independence by encouraging active participation.


Documentation & Evaluation:
Maintain detailed daily documentation, reviewing progress against goals and seeking feedback for improvement.


Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate with team members for holistic care, effectively communicating with individuals and families.

Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all.


Professional Development:
Stay updated on best practices and participate in training to enhance skills in group management and communication.


Vehicle Use:

Driving may be required, with drivers needing to be at least 21 years old and comply with safety regulations

Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL PDI POSITIONS

Minimum Requirements:

  • The age requirement of 21 or older.
  • Completion of pre-hire and random drug screenings.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and communication.
  • Completion of First Aid, CPR, and other mandatory training.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance if driving is required.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED; experience with disabilities preferred.

Language Ability:

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.

Mathematics Ability:

  • Basic mathematical proficiency, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Computer Skills:

  • Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and internet software.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Capability to apply common sense and solve problems.

Work Environment:

  • Mainly works in the PDI facility. Often in the community as well.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise levels.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and move varying weights, with or without assistive devices.
  • Visual and physical abilities required for the job tasks.
  • Regular standing, walking, sitting, and occasional stooping or kneeling.

Travel:

  • Occasional out-of-town travel responsibilities; may require local travel based on program assignment.
