Skilled Machinist for Wise Foods

A Machinist for Wise Foods will operate machine tools to fabricate and manufacture Machine parts.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Operates fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes.
- Reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
- Selects the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on machines.
- Examines and measures completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjusts machine controls to resolve production errors.
- Inspects machinery for any needed repairs; performs minor repairs within expertise.
- Maintains cleanliness and safety of work area.
- Complies with applicable safety standards and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining.
- Ability to read blueprints and plans.
- Excellent mechanical skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledgeable of fire prevention practices, procedures and equipment
- Knowledgeable of safety rules, regulations and practices with regard to personal safety and the safety of others in the immediate work area
- Work and comply with the company GMP standards
Education & Experience
- High School or GED.
- Trade School Experience
- 5 - 7 years as a skilled Machinist
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand and move for long periods of time
- Ability to lift items weighing in excess of 50 lbs. frequently
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments
- Ability to work with chemicals
- Mobility and movements - frequent ability to bend, twist, kneel, squat, climb, reach outwards and upwards, grasp and twist wristsAbout Wise:
