Pay Range: $35.10 - $43.27 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Adult Skills Center (TASC) provides innovative and proactive services that empower individuals with diverse intellectual, developmental, and mental health needs to achieve their highest level of Independence and realize their greatest potential. The BCBA Case Manager will specialize in those cases requiring clinical behavior interventions and/or skill acquisition programming. Liaison between TASC, client, the IPP team, and job sites following best practices and point of contact standards. Provides support to the client, staff, and job site as needed. Creates contacts with potential employers in the community based on the needs of clients assigned. Spearheads the Discovery process, case management, file creation, identifying client needs and skills, Acts a resource guide for clients and staff, tracks documentation of services and all interactions. Participates in case review meetings with counselors / referring agencies for updates and communicating challenges and outcomes to the team. Produces and submits documents pertaining to client referrals and progress.

Primary Duties:

Behavior Analysis

  1. Conducting skills assessments and functional behavior assessments
  2. Designing and modifying individualized treatment plans
  3. Leading weekly to monthly team meetings/trainings
  4. Developing goals and conducting staff training
  5. Reviewing and Analyzing daily notes and data
  6. Preparing progress reports for team meetings and funding agencies
  7. Preparing and submitting SIR’s and appropriate documentation to funding agencies, APS and licensing within the specified time period
  8. Attending planning meetings
  9. Training, supervising, and evaluating behavior therapists
  10. Training and collaboration with staff and other service providers. Team work with professionals from other disciplines is essential

Case Management

  1. Maintain a caseload of program participants and support those clients as they seek to gain and maintain employment.
  2. Works directly with Department of Rehabilitation, Regional Center, Social Security and other agencies to place clients in supported employment programs and manage their cases.
  3. Conducts initial screenings to determine eligibility, schedules appointments, and provides assistance to clients to complete benefits enrollment
  4. Determines appropriateness of referral and client eligibility to benefit from community/mainstream resources
  5. Identifies and utilizes community resources to meet client needs
  6. Coordinates with case management to document services and establish organized program file structure, client database, and assessment process for income and benefits services
  7. Provides monthly service reports of statistics and outcomes
  8. Maintains cooperative and collaborative working relationships with staff of community agencies to obtain resources for clients
  9. Participates and attends on/off site staff and community meetings
  10. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  11. Works under general supervision or independently
  12. Process DOR and Regional Center referrals, documents, and reports.
  13. Participate in overseeing and training job coaches for specific client needs and employment settings.
  14. Meet with participants, both one-on-one and in group settings, to assess strengths and barriers to employment, identify job leads, produce and refine resumes/cover letters and sharpen interview skills, among other tasks.
  15. Act as a resource for all program participants and refer them to the appropriate service provider when the program does not fill their needs.
  16. Perform client assessments and record those assessments.

Program Management

  1. Participate in the hiring, training and on-going supervision of all program staff.
  2. Provide supervision and mentorship to program staff including delegating duties and responsibilities according to their job descriptions, meeting together with supervisors on a regular basis, keeping written documentation of all meetings, directives, trainings, disciplinary actions, and agreements; conducting annual job performance evaluations.
  3. Prepare for and participate in audits by regulatory and funding agencies.
  4. Provide oversight to assigned program office space and equipment.
  5. Ensure quality of services including relationships with clients, families, funding agencies, regulatory agencies, and the community.
  6. Collaborate with all TASC departments and foster team engagement.
  7. Participate in and lead program evolution and growth in areas of need.

TASC Leadership

  1. Represent TASC within the community
  2. Participate on community boards and/or committees in order to enhance community knowledge of TASC as well as provide TASC with relationships with additional community resources
  3. Speak to community groups when requested by Director
  4. Participate in TASC strategic plan implementation
  5. Participate in committees and contribute ideas
  6. Foster team engagement and growth
  7. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree in psychology, behavior analysis, special education, or a related field
  2. Active BCBA or BCBA-D certification in good standing
  3. At least 3 years experience providing ABA-based treatment to adults with developmental disabilities
  4. Strong computer skills, including demonstrated success with Microsoft Office Suite; strong skills and comfort with internet applications and social networking sites
  5. Must be able to successfully complete First Aid/CPR
  6. Maintain all certifications up to date
  7. Must have current California Driver’s license/Insurance and clean DMV.
  8. Must receive criminal record clearance through the DOJ.
  9. Desire to compassionately align with the client, while supporting a culture of creating self-reliance and sustainability
  10. Ability to establish and develop effective relationships with staff, employers, volunteers, community groups, current and potential donors, corporate sponsors, agency partners and other key stakeholders

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to drive for work
  2. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  3. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards

The employee must provide physical assistance and/or push clients up to 250lbs in a wheelchair. Must be able to assist adult clients transitioning in and out of vehicle and in the restroom.

Completion of Professional Crisis Management Certification within 90 days of hire (provided by TASC) is required for this position and is not recommended for:

1) Individuals who have mobility and/or range of motion problems

2) Individuals with recent fractures or surgeries

3) Individuals who have suffered any kind of joint injury requiring medical attention in the past 6 months

4) Individuals with poor balance, flexibility or agility
