About the role
The Buyer will work on our Purchasing team and be assigned a subset of vendors to work with and ensure orders are fulfilled properly and in a timely manner. You will also be the main point of contact to troubleshoot order issues with the inside sales team for your assigned vendors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with onboarding new vendors.
- Understand the purchasing process and what can and cannot be used to bill an order.
- Cultivate strong relationships and act as the primary point of contact for assigned vendors.
- Make allowable updates to purchase orders to assist in order fulfillment
- Cancel orders as requested
- Satisfy general sales support requests including tracking shipments, providing order statuses back to sales, and submitting product return requests to vendors
- Use strong problem-solving skills to work through order issues with Sales and Accounting groups.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and inside sales teams.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in order tracking and documentation.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work well under pressure.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to show initiative.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Clear and effective oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamix is preferred but not required.
- Understanding and experience with EDI order transmission is ideal.
