Responsibilities
- Identify and meet patients’ goals and needs
- Provide and maintain appropriate high standards of clinical care to patients
- Take a “patient-first” approach to care by establishing a friendly, trustworthy rapport with patients
- Create custom treatment plans using a variety of treatment techniques that help improve clients’ motion and mobility
- Motivate patients during treatment in order to help them function optimally and achieve their goals
- Communicate effectively with physicians and other relevant healthcare providers
- Complete daily documentation with appropriate charges and authorization requirements within established deadlines
- Discharge patients appropriately, providing education and home programs as needed
- Promote our “PT for Life” philosophy in community settings

Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers is Connecticut's largest private-practice physical therapy company more than 32 locations around the state serving more than 20,000 patients every year. President Alan Balavender, a physical therapist himself, purchased and started the first PTSMC clinic in Waterbury in 2000.
