AM Maintenance Person (Wednesday-Sunday)

We’re looking for a hardworking maintenance technician to join our team

POSITION TITLE: MAINTENANCE, CUSTODIAL, DRIVER (Valid Driver’s License Required)

JOB SUMMARY: Maintains the physical and cleanliness conditions of the hotel's public areas, guest rooms, and back of the house according to operating and safety standards, ensuring that service requests and repairs are made correctly and in a timely manner. Cleans and maintains the hotel lobby and other public areas throughout the property to established standards to assure guest satisfaction. Drives guests to and from airport, area businesses and other locations. Makes basic repairs on an on-call basis to guest room issues (TV/HVAC/Plumbing) - will train. The Maintenance staff at the Best Western Plus Grant Creek Inn runs 24/7. Shift will be AM shift (7AM-3PM) Wednesday-Sunday. Candidate must be very reliable and punctual, as essential hotel functions rely on their dependability. 

Compensation:

$16 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement preventative maintenance procedures to maximize equipment operations and minimize safety risks
  • Manage other maintenance requests as required
  • Make records of when any equipment was services and repairs were made
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and systems such as plumbing fixtures, HVAC units, and electrical wiring to ensure optimal performance and make any repairs
  • Examine building windows, walls, and doors for damage and perform repairs when needed

  • May perform general carpentry, tiling, painting and wall surface repairs (experience is helpful but not required)
  • Completes maintenance request forms
  • Cleans and maintains the lobby and other public areas to ensure a safe and clean experience for hotel guests, associates and vendors
  • Vacuums and/or sweeps all floor surfaces
  • Complete and document pool readings (will train)
  • Transports guests to and from airport and other locations as requested, while demonstrating all common courtesies and obeying driving and traffic laws (valid, clean driver’s license/record)
  • Responds in a timely, courteous manner to guests' questions, complaints, or requests
  • Maintain guests' privacy
  • Properly maintains tools, workspaces, and equipment
  • Maintain a high level of professional appearance and demeanor
  • Performs other duties as assigned, respond on a radio/on-call basis
Qualifications:
  • Excellent work ethic, communication skills, time management skills, and attention to detail
  • Advanced understanding of maintenance equipment, procedures, and techniques
  • Should be able to demonstrate understanding of heating and air conditioning units, plumbing systems, and electrical systems
  • Has high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Flexible availability for on-call maintenance requests on nights and weekends

  • Problem-Solving Skills
  • Interpersonal Skills (Connecting with Guests on a comfortable, personal level)
  • Technical and Computer Skills
  • Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry is helpful but not required
  • Experienced with general maintenance tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Multi-Tasking/Working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Caring and compassionate attitude
  • Knowledge of surrounding area and events
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Best Western Plus Grant Creek Inn is a family-friendly hotel located in Missoula, Montana. Guestrooms feature flat-screen TVs with cable channels, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi. Tea and coffee-making facilities, refrigerators, and microwaves are also provided. This smoke-free hotel boasts an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, spa tub, and fitness center. Wi-Fi is free in public areas and self-parking is also provided without charge. Airport transportation can be arranged as well. A complimentary buffet breakfast is served every morning, including fresh fruit, eggs, pastries, pancakes, and hot drinks.
