Housekeeping and Prep Cook Job Description - Remote Camps
Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Housekeeping and Prep Cook for our remote camps. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within our facilities while also assisting with food preparation tasks. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently in a remote environment. Work rotations minimum 2 weeks on, one week off.
Responsibilities:
- Housekeeping Duties:
- Clean and sanitize crews' room, common areas, dining facilities, and other designated areas according to established standards.
- Change linens, and amenities as needed.
- Sweep and mop floors, and empty trash receptacles.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are properly maintained and stored.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
- Prep Cook Duties:
- Assist with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and following recipes.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items and cleaning of cooking utensils and equipment.
- Follow food safety protocols and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Assist with dishwashing and kitchen cleanup tasks as needed.
- General Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operation of the camp facilities.
- Communicate any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor when interacting with guests and coworkers.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in housekeeping and/or food service roles preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and safe food handling practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to adhere to a flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that require standing, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy objects.
