Job Summary
As an Underground Laborer at Lightspeed Construction Group, LLC you are responsible for assisting the assigned crew by furnishing tools, materials, and supplies; cleaning work area, machines, and tools, holding materials or tools for other workers and performing traffic control duties.
Requirements for an Underground Laborer:
Pass a background check and drug test
Valid Driver's License
Tasks Required for an Underground Laborer:
Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones.
Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities.
Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications.
Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed.
Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications.
Tend pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment
Erect or dismantle traffic barricades or other temporary structures for safety.
Lubricate and clean machinery, equipment, or tools.
Utilize machinery, such as a directional drill, to drill holes in a multitude of different types of dirt and clay.
Knowledge Required of an Underground Laborer:
Building and Construction— Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in underground construction for CATV telecommunications systems.
Mechanical— Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Safety— Knowledge of relevant safety procedures in a construction setting.
