Speech Pathologist

We are looking for an Speech Pathologist.

** This is a Per-Diem position **

Speech Pathologist Introduction:

The Speech Pathologist is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the speech pathology program.

Speech Pathologist Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree Speech Pathology from an Accredited College or University.
  • Licensed and in good standing in the State of Iowa and current registration as a Therapist.
  • One year of clinical experience in Long Term Care.
  • Should be a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association.
  • Should have continuing education in Swallowing Assessment and Treatment.

Speech Pathologist Job Summary:

  • Design and employ a Speech Pathology program suitable to the needs of the resident population
  • Upon written prescription of a physician, evaluate residents and prepare a Speech Therapy Treatment Plan.
  • Report to physiatrist and resident’s physician concerning evaluation findings and rehabilitation potential.
  • Provide follow-up Speech Pathology procedures.
  • Consult with persons concerned with resident’s care regarding techniques to promote optimal use of rehab gains.
  • Advise Director of Rehabilitation of supplies, materials, and equipment necessary.
  • Attend appropriate meetings when requested or report to the Director of Rehabilitation.
  • Prepares monthly statistical reports for the Director of Rehabilitation.
  • Participates in the Minimum Data Set Assessment Process as scheduled.
