Reports To: RSekure Program Manager

Location: On-site in Chantilly, VA

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week

Clearance Req: TS/SCI - Full-Scope Polygraph

FLSA Status: Salaried, Exempt

Position Summary

RSekure is seeking a Senior/SME Developer to provide full life cycle support to various applications and tools. This role focuses on refining and enhancing existing applications as well as assisting in the development of solutions to software architecture problems and broad design solutions. This role will participate in software development efforts through all aspects of software engineering. This position has potential for on-call support for operational needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, and testing of applications using modern standards
  • Share O&M responsibilities with other members of the development team
  • Translate customer requirements into mockups and fully-functional applications
  • Investigate and seek new, innovative ways to improve user functionality
  • Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period
  • Monitor RSekure email on a regular basis, at least 3 times per week, and respond accordingly
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills

  • Familiarity with GWT, ReactJS, BackboneJS, and Rails front-end
  • Strong foundation in Linux
  • Experience with AWS CLI, AWS, CDK, or AWS SDK
  • Experience with Python and Bash
  • Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
  • Ability to automate repetitive tasks
  • Knowledge of Behavior and Test-Driven Development using Cucumber, RSpec, and supporting libraries
  • Familiarity with Restful web services
  • Experience working in Agile teams
  • Strong customer service skills

Stand-out Qualifications

  • Experience with Node.js
  • Experience with React
  • Experience with Vue.js
  • Experience with Apache Solr

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • 14+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, and/or web application development and deployment
  • 5+ years with Ruby, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery, Java, and other object-oriented languages
  • 5+ years of experience with Rails in varying versions

Certifications, Licenses

  • Relevant technical certifications (CompTIA, AWS, Microsoft) are a bonus

Special Requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance with a Full-Scope polygraph

Work Environment

Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.

Physical Demands

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
