Position: Dishwasher/Prep Cook

Position Summary:

The Dishwasher/Prep Cook is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, washing dishes, and assisting with basic food preparation. This role ensures the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to a clean and organized work environment.

Core Responsibilities:

· Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using a dishwasher or hand.

· Ensure all dishes are clean, sanitized, and stored properly.

· Clean kitchen surfaces, equipment, and floors to maintain sanitation standards.

· Take out trash, ensuring disposal areas are clean and organized.

· Assist with basic food prep tasks such as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.

· Measure and prepare ingredients as directed by the kitchen manager or lead line cook.

· Assist in preparing salads, appetizers, and other simple dishes.

· Ensure all prepared food items are stored properly and labeled correctly.

· Maintain organization and cleanliness of the kitchen, including storage areas.

· Replenish kitchen supplies as needed.

· Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.

· Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures.

· Perform other duties in other areas of the Kitchen as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property

• Focus and maintain attention to tasks, and complete work assignments on time despite frequent interruptions

• Regular attendance according to established guidelines

• Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff and always maintain staff and guest confidentiality

Physical Requirements:

• Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods.

• Bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning requirements

• Exert physical effort in lifting, pushing, and transporting fifty (50) pounds

• Work takes place in an environment that can be hot, cold, and/or humid

• Repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening, hearing ability, and visual ability
