Job Description:
As a Quality Engineer at Tigé/ATX Boats you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our boating products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams such as the engineering team, quality assurance team, and production teams to develop and implement robust new quality control processes. The desired objective of this position is to drive continuous improvement in product quality and reliability in the final products for Tige and ATX Boats.

 

The Quality Engineer will report directly to the company President.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the implementation, maintenance and verification of all quality system requirements including process control plans, problem solving, corrective actions, audits, supplier issues, customer concerns, and customer specific requirements.
  1. Identify the strengths and weaknesses of current programs and systems, and devise strategies for improvement.
  2. Conduct inspections, tests, and audits to identify and address quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.
  3. Collaborate with design and production teams to establish quality standards and specifications.  Play an integral role in the training and development of manufacturing personnel, providing guidance on quality control processes and procedures.  Collaborate with other teams on resolution of process and product issues.
  4. Investigate and analyze product defects, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.  Review and approve quality control documentation and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  5. Maintain records of inspections, test results, and all quality control activities.
  6. Monitor and report on key quality performance indicators.  Create and report KPI’s to executive leadership for clear understanding of quality and product metrics.
  7. Develop and deliver training programs on quality processes and standards.  Assure corresponding gauging, fixturing, process inspection and verification records, and training / work instructions as identified as critical characteristics on engineering prints.
  8. Collaborate with product development engineers and suppliers to ensure incoming materials meet quality requirements.  Collect and analyze data from manufacturing and warranty.
  9. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall product quality and customer satisfaction.  Interface occasionally with customers to identify root cause and implement corrective actions to improve process and quality control.
  10. Mitigate risk through proactive analysis and audits on manufacturing processes and systems.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  2. Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in the boating or similar industry.
  3. Strong knowledge of quality control processes and methodologies.
  4. Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.
  7. A keen attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to maintaining high quality standards and delivering high-quality results.
  8. Experience with quality management systems is a plus.
  9. Experience in leadership and team management a plus.
  10. Achievement of relevant certifications in quality control or related fields is highly advantageous.
