Job Summary:


As a Kitchen Dishwasher at The Northport Hotel, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. You will be responsible for washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, as well as assisting with overall kitchen cleanliness. Your attention to detail and commitment to food safety and hygiene will contribute to the smooth operation of our restaurant.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Dishwashing: Operate dishwashing machines to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
  2. Utensil and Equipment Cleaning: Hand wash items that cannot be cleaned in the dishwasher, ensuring they are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
  3. Storage: Properly store cleaned dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment in designated areas.
  4. Trash Removal: Collect and dispose of kitchen trash and recycling materials, maintaining cleanliness in trash disposal areas.
  5. Assist Kitchen Team: Support the kitchen team by ensuring they have a steady supply of clean dishes, utensils, and equipment.
  6. Cleaning and Sanitization: Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment.
  7. Compliance: Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.

Qualifications:


  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of dishwashing equipment and cleaning processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks in a hot and humid kitchen environment.
  • Lift and carry heavy bins of dishes and equipment.
