We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic for a position in Baton Rouge, LA. This position repairs automotive equipment, including but not limited to, trucks, carts, buggies, air compressors, welding machines, cranes, dirt equipment and trailers. Non-exempt role; Reports to Direct Supervisor / Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.


Essential Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent
  • 5 years or more experience with heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment
  • Experience with hydraulic systems
  • Must be able to pass drug test and background check
  • General gasoline and diesel engine knowledge
  • Ability to diagnose and repair equipment
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work self-directed and alone at times
  • ASME certified preferred
  • Technical training and/or industrial related safety experience
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others at the workplace

Functional Requirements:

Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various automotive and heavy equipment, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.


Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
