Job Summary: The Facilities Services Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the plant’s facilities and equipment. This role ensures that all systems operate efficiently and safely, supporting the overall production process.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and infrastructure.

· Conduct routine inspections to identify and resolve issues promptly.

· Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

· Some electrical work, requiring electrical experience in an industrial environment (ex. Run, bend, and install conduit, knowledge of 120v-480v 3-phase, etc.)

· Light to moderate carpentry and painting.

· Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely manner.

· Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.

· Document maintenance activities and repairs accurately.

· Collaborate with production and other departments to support operational needs.

· Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility performance.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.

· Experience in facilities maintenance, ideally in a food production environment.

· Proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Effective communication skills.

· Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environmental conditions

 

Mathematical Skills:

The ideal candidate should have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


Reasoning:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited direction exists.

Physical Demands:

Work Environment:

Employees work both indoors and outside at a manufacturing processing facility. Indoor areas may either be extremely warm or extremely cold, depending on the facility. Work areas may be noisy and adequate PPE is provided and required. Work may be conducted near moving equipment, requiring that the individudal stay alert to surroundings.
