RLM Underground was established in 2016 and specializes in underground telecom construction projects throughout the Midwest. RLM has rapidly grown at staggering rates leading to expanding its construction and operating capabilities into being a full-turnkey telecommunications contractor. Over the years, RLM has expanded its operating region, opening offices in Central Kentucky and Central Illinois while focusing on smaller Telco providers throughout those regions.


Position Summary:

RLM Underground is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Director of Telecom Construction for the Rocky Mountain Region (Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho). We need a Director who is self-sufficient, proactive and assertive with the ability to take-charge and manage, organize, plan, coordinate, and direct all of the necessary work and resources for all lower employees. Must have both underground & aerial Telecom experience.



Duties & Responsibilities:

  • OSP field staff in the daily and weekly planning process.
  • Supervises all subcontracted construction personnel; monitors their activities and provides leadership.
  • Monitors and reports on construction productivity and schedule performance.
  • Develops a strong understanding of vendor contract intricacies and ensures the team enforces compliance among the vendor community in accordance with company standards and practices.
  • Takes actions necessary to meet project budget and schedule requirements.
  • Coordinates the Construction Completion Walkdowns and ensures the process is in place to close out of all punch list items.
  • Assists with client interface and relations.
  • Reviews and approves equipment rentals.
  • Conducts weekly coordination meetings with crews.
  • Reports weekly schedule and construction completion status to senior leadership.
  • Monitors all extra work authorization requests, back charges, and supplier and subcontractor progress/final payment requests.
  • Enforces Safety, Quality and Production requirements.
  • Directly responsible for the Construction budget.
  • Has full knowledge of the safety program and acts as the Safety Representative on site in the absence of the regular Safety Supervisor.
  • Has general knowledge of all disciplines of construction and is able to stand in for each lead discipline.
  • Monitors and controls regular time and overtime.


Job Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $100k - $130k + Bonus Package

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of experience required in the Telecom industry including several years in a management/supervisory capacity (i.e. Construction, Engineering, Outside Plant, etc.).
  • Requires strong knowledge of MS Office applications, including; Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • High competence needed in proprietary software and tools utilized within the industry.
  • Excellent decision making, leadership, mentoring/coaching, organizational, verbal, written, interpersonal, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.
  • Experience in both underground and aerial Telecom construction is required.
  • Knowledge of construction technology, managing contract labor and the construction, operations and reliability of fiber-optic transport networks including FTTx and Gigabit network platforms.
  • Knowledge of project budget process and tools.
  • Knowledge of department budget processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of Project controls.
