Job Title: Subcontract Coordinator

Reports To: Supply Chain Manager

Division/Department: GHM/Supply Chain

Level of Work: Level II

Position Summary:

The Subcontract Coordinator is responsible for all procurement activities involved in the event of a Subcontract decision based on production/manufacturing needs. This includes the procurement of raw materials, finished goods and services that support the subcontract decision. The Subcontract Coordinator will support product/manufacturing needs in a timely and economic fashion for external projects. Quality, effective prices, and on time delivery are key needs and considerations to meet production/manufacturing schedule requirements. The Subcontract Coordinate works closely with Suppliers to drive results in customer satisfaction and reflect on the company's credibility as a reputable supplier. The Subcontract Coordinator identifies, interview, and maintains files and records for Suppliers. Trouble shoots and expedites as necessary.

Level II: Service – Coordinating “production” with problem solving and prevention


Resource management (material and people)

  1. Practice positive peer engagement methodologies to ensure success in quality, cost and on time delivery.
  2. Serve as a key representative for the Subcontract procces.
  3. Communicate the company’s goals and objectives to the supply base and ensure that the supply base is driving to the company’s goals and objectives.
  4. Manage personal performance by setting goals and expectations.
  5. Cultivate and foster the company’s core values.
  6. Maintain supply base required documentation and information.


Resource scheduling, output management and reporting

  1. Reviews and analyzes requirements to assure adequate project compliance and delivery.
  2. Initiates contracts with supplier to ensure timely completion of project.
  3. Provides schedules, milestones and feedback on projects.
  4. Alerts stakeholders to potential supply issues.
  5. Acts as the liaison between the Supplier, Engineering, Document Control and Quality.
  6. Reports to customers as required.
  7. Initiates and maintains periodic meetings with customer and supplier as required.
  8. Ensures supplier compliance with project requirements including but not limited to schedule, cost, quality and performance.


Continuous Improvement

  1. Continually improve procedures, processes and methods to effectively meet customer needs and organizational objectives.
  2. Provide improvement tools, techniques suggestions.
  3. Follow a continual improvement culture in the department and drive 5S and Safety initiatives.
  4. Execute improvement tools and techniques needed to implement and sustain daily continual improvement.


Equipment & process maintenance

  1. Ensure safety of the employees and quality of the material throughout all processes.
  2. Can locate Quality Management System procedure, can read and understand relevant procedures and are aware of all procedure changes when they occur.
  3. Ensure that all procedures are followed to drive quality outcomes and ensure quality controls.
  4. Manage compliance to all safety procedure and ensure proper protective equipment usage to ensure personnel safety.


Professional Development

  1. Demonstrates initiative, positive attitude, and enthusiasm for the job
  2. Will follow up with Manager on professional development goals and opportunities.
  3. Takes an interest and lets it be known that they have a desire to grow with the company
  4. Continually work to improve industry knowledge.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, an individual must possess the knowledge, training, experience and abilities required.

Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain or other relevant field.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 10+ years of on the job experience in lieu of formal education.

Other:

  • Must be willing to work overtime as required.
  • Local, National and International travel may be required.
  • Travel up to 20% of working time.

  23. Basic understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, Incoterms, logistics, stockroom operations, shipping/receiving.

  • Work Environment: This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be able to work in the U.S without sponsorship. Ability to obtain US government security clearance is desired.
