Reporting to the Automation team this Industrial Automation Engineer ensures the design of all industrial automation projects are designed, and executed to meet the short, intermediate, and long-range automation strategy, objectives, and priorities for the technical, reliability, and maintenance functions of Our Client:

Responsibilities:

  • Governs the design and implementation of the SCADA aspects of OUR CLIENT’s industrial automation systems deployed worldwide; identifies opportunities & implements innovative automation solutions.
  • Collaborates with the entire Digital Technology Team as well as cross-functional leaders to evaluate, improve, develop, and implement SCADA standards, procedures, and guidelines to accomplish OUR CLIENT’s business objectives.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional peers to develop ever-increasing levels of control system autonomy to maximize process optimization and safety.
  • Collaborates with leadership to develop and meet tactical goals and objectives, supplying subject matter expertise and guidance.
  • Responsible for the development and management of applicable capital and expense plans and budgets.
  • Responsible for the technical, reliability, and maintenance strategy and functions related to OUR CLIENT’s worldwide industrial automation footprint, including, but not limited to:
    • Industrial Process Automation systems, including all layers of distributed and supervisory control systems, as well as predictive model control (AI), alarm management, process measurement, final control elements, IIOT applications, and historization, etc.
    • Coordination of 3rd party process skids into a unified SCADA system ensuring companywide standards are met
    • Oversee the iterative design process through Design Reviews, User Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing.
    • Participates in the development and implementation of the digital strategy for industrial automation engineering design tools, facility technical information, drawings, and engineering artifacts, with worldwide central function access.
    • Delegates responsibilities for specified work to peers and contractors to meet milestones and budget constraints.
  • Participates in institution of KPI’s for the industrial automation system and associated disciplines.
  • Establishes, communicates, and implements industrial automation system related policies, practices, and standards.
  • Produces and presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the VP of Automation and Digital Strategy.
  • Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided to necessary parties.
  • Communicates and works efficiently and effectively with employees across the organization to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in related disciplines.
  • Communicate progress, needs and project status to internal customers.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the VP of Automation and Digital Strategy

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Self-starter and self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong work ethic and hands-on approach to management and execution of responsibilities
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of industrial automation experience. Experience with developing and deployment of automation systems within operating facilities is essential.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety and OSHA regulations required. Familiarization with ISA, and other industry standards a plus.
  • Knowledge of a variety of control systems (PLC, DCS and SCADA systems).
