Job Summary:

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of CT procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed CT techniques for diagnosis. This role involves completing routine diagnostic procedures, obtaining intravenous access, and prioritizing and organizing daily workflow. The Technologist will also work on ensuring high-quality patient care, effective communication, and compliance with facility protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of CT procedures requiring independent judgment and advanced technical skills.
  • Complete all routine diagnostic CT procedures, including scans for diagnosis of various conditions.
  • Obtain and maintain intravenous access for contrast administration.
  • Prioritize and organize daily work tasks and workflow to ensure timely and accurate completion of procedures.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of patient care and procedures.
  • Perform contrast injections as needed, following safety protocols.
  • Ensure high standards of patient care and follow infection control practices.
  • Provide a positive and supportive environment for patients and collaborate effectively with medical staff.
  • Complete all required documentation and reports, including those for the 14-panel drug screen.
  • Adhere to all COVID-19 vaccination and training requirements.
  • Participate in non-billable orientation and training as required.
  • Handle any requested time off (RTO) within the specified limits.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in performing CT procedures and contrast injections, with experience in using Canon/Toshiba CT scanners.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and medical staff.
  • Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills, including experience with Cerner EMR and McKesson PACS preferred.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems efficiently.
  • Patient Care: Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to patient confidentiality and care.
  • Documentation: Accurate and thorough documentation of patient records and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of current CT experience; Nuclear Medicine experience is a plus.
  • Travel Experience: Previous or current travel experience strongly encouraged.
  • Licenses and Certifications:
    • Current NY State Radiologic Technologist License.
    • ARRT (CT) certification.
    • BLS certification.
  • Drug Screen: Must complete a 14-panel drug screen within 24 hours of offer acceptance.
  • Training: Completed training from one of the following organizations for onboarding and clearance: Welle, CPI, or PMCS.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Strongly encouraged; vaccination card or intent to file for exemption form must be included in the profile.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with contrast injection.
  • Experience with Canon/Toshiba scanners.
  • Familiarity with Cerner EMR and McKesson PACS.
