WHAT DOES A PAYROLL TAX SPECIALIST DO?

As a Payroll Tax Specialist at iBusinessSolutions, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing payroll tax payables and returns for clients across the nation. With responsibilities spanning all 50 states, you'll ensure compliance with diverse tax regulations and maintain accurate records. Operating within a sophisticated system that calculates taxes and payments for different agencies, your attention to detail and expertise will be instrumental in guaranteeing timely and precise payroll tax processing. To excel as a Payroll Tax Specialist at iBusinessSolutions, candidates must possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, payroll best practices, and US payroll tax regulations. Essential skills include advanced analytical abilities, a methodical approach to tasks, and adept problem-solving skills. Effective communication, both written and verbal, is crucial for interactions with internal and external stakeholders, as well as for preparing comprehensive reports. The role demands exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.

Proficiency in evaluating technical payroll activities, preparing detailed reports, and providing excellent customer service is vital. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 4 years' experience in payroll processing are preferred, along with proficiency in payroll software and advanced Excel skills.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and minimum of 4 years' experience in payroll processing.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Payroll best practices and knowledge of US payroll tax, as well as proficiency with payroll software and other features that integrate with it.
  • Skilled in evaluating and analyzing technical payroll activities that integrate with tax processes.
  • Skilled in preparing detailed reports and performing detailed computations for tax reporting purposes, and the ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Demonstrate customer service focus, client communication skills, exceptional organizational skills, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to use critical thinking skills when solving problems and explaining to others.
  • Clear and professional communication skills (written and oral) both internally and externally.
  • Energized self-starter capable of working and thinking independently, ensuring deadlines are met, and excellent capability to switch tasks while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field is a plus.
