INTRODUCTION

This job description outlines the requirements, reporting relationships, authority, responsibilities, and duties for the position of Yard Crew of Big Mike’s Rental, Repair, and Services.

Summary/ Objective

The yard crew position is responsible for ensuring the store and surrounding areas are clean, organized, and tidy. This role will assist in the cleaning, maintenance, organization and inventory of all company equipment and supplies

Essential Job Functions

1. Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every customer and by maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge, and all other components of customer service.
2. Make sure all work yard operations and ensure compliance to safety policies
3. Ensure proper handling of all materials and equipment and store it appropriately
4. Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on equipment and prepare report to submit to yard crew supervisor
5. Conducts safety/yard inspections, document findings/observations and let the yard crew supervisor know immediately
6. Monitor loading of materials and equipment to ensure safe transfer to customers, clients, and receiving department.
7. Keep the store grounds clean and orderly
8. Maintains adherence to all company policies and procedures.
9. Performs any other duties assigned by management.
10. Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
11. The ability to frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
12. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Duties and responsibilities

• When needed assist with loading or unloading of equipment
• Operates forklift to move materials and equipment to designated areas
• Conduct daily forklift check before, during, and after use
• Answer any customer questions regarding the company’s products
• Assist in the training of customers when needed on equipment
• Maintains physical building according to company standards. Communicates with Store Manager on areas of needed maintenance.
• Assist in annual performance evaluations review with Store Manager.
• Maintains training and safety training as required for all staff.
• Protects fellow employees and customers by providing a safe and clean yard environment.
• Avoids legal challenges by complying with federal, state and local legal requirements.
• To contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

• Knowledgeable in general welding practices and equipment
• Knowledgeable in all rental equipment
• Skills and ability to directly interface with all members of the work force and management.

While perform the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

Position type/ Expected hours of work

This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Weekend work may be required as schedule demands.

Work Environment

This job working environment varies from outside conditions, high heat and cold, high noise levels in certain areas, as well as an office environment.

Required Education and Experience

Required: High school or equivalent

Preferred A minimum of 1 years related experience.
