Position Summary:

We are looking for experienced Sheetmetal Mechanic who are seeking their next opportunity in a complex and ever-changing work environment


Essential Job Functions:

  • Must be able to complete complex rework and repair operations as prescribed by MRB or other authorization(s) in a timely manner with first pass quality.
  • Determine the appropriate path(s) for completing all assigned tasks where existing planning and tooling is ineffective and or inadequate.
  • Duties include but are not limited to all Drilling, Reaming, Cold Working and duplication of close-tolerance holes common to rework/replacement parts and assemblies and the reinstallation of any and all details and assemblies as required.
  • Locate replacement parts and assemblies per drawing(s) and / or MRB instructions achieving all required coordinated dimensions and tolerances.
  • Perform all bench and machine operations as required to fabricate, rework and repair all parts and assemblies as determined by work instructions.
  • Develop and fabricate any and all assembly aids and tools necessary to alleviate and eliminate problems encountered during rework / repair operations.
  • Monitor all assigned manufacturing areas for Daher Aerospace related customer service opportunities.


Requirements:
  • High school diploma or accredited GED required.
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role
  • A&P License preferred.
  • Ability to read and speak English proficiently required in order to perform the job.
  • Preferred experience with a proven record of effectively working in a Customer service type environment.
  • Must be able to obtain confined space certification and exhibit ability to perform rework operations in cramped, difficult areas as well as ability to work at heights utilizing lifts and cranes.
  • Ability to perform operations in all areas of the Manufacturing facility from Major Structures to Final Assembly to the Flight Line is required.
  • Must have experience and knowledge of Boeing specifications and procedures and ability to read / interpret Boeing drawings and work instructions.
  • Must have ability to effectively use tools such as scales, micrometers, ball gauges, calipers, drills, rivet guns, squeeze guns and any other hand tool as required to complete tasks assigned.
  • Must be able to obtain confined space certification and exhibit ability to perform rework operations in cramped, difficult areas as well as ability to work at heights utilizing lifts and cranes.
  • Must be able to pass Boeing background checks and maintain Boeing issued Badge(s) and access, including by not limited to ITAR, CMES, REDARS, and SQIS.
  • Must be able to effectively interact with the factory Customer (Boeing) working within the Boeing QMS to obtain closure on all rework that is being performed on Daher Aerospace hardware.
  • Ability to read and speak English proficiently required in order to perform the job.
