What We Are Looking For


Associate Underwriter

A client-focused professional, with experience in the Property & Casualty insurance brokerage industry, providing superior underwriting and account support. Someone who is adept at operating efficiently in a very high-volume atmosphere, sharing best practices with the team, meeting the needs of agents, and achieving the business goals of the Company. Someone who operates with integrity, respect and is proud of their ethics and work product.

 

What you’ll be doing

  1. Provide underwriting support for Brokers and Underwriters, both on new business and renewals.
  2. Underwrite and quote a renewal book of business on an assigned team at assigned premium thresholds.
  3. Review/collect complete underwriting information from agents including applications, losses, submissions, etc.
  4. Build working relationships with carriers and agents.
  5. Possesses working knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, markets, and underwriting practices.
  6. Handle standard day-to-day account service activities including inquiries, endorsements, investigate issues, and seek solutions in a timely manner.
  7. Support Service Team as needed with functions including quote processing/delivery, quote follow-ups for binding, premium finance quoting, binding, inspections, policy issuance and more.  
  8. Continuously support team in client retention by participating in meetings, helping with training and mentorship, and providing account backup as needed.
  9. Performs functions on agency management system, proficiently and accurately as product excellence is the standard.
  10. Performs additional assigned duties as necessary.

 

What you must have:

  1. Minimum four years of Property & Casualty insurance brokerage/agency experience.
  2. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  3. Strong verbal & written communication to convey professionalism in all facets of the job, both internally and externally.
  4. Detail oriented, resourceful, and can think critically.
  5. Highly organized with the ability to handle/prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
  6. Positive disposition as you’ll be dealing with different office personalities.
  7. Adaptability to changes in processes and procedures.
  8. Above average computer proficiency.
  9. Values a team environment and appreciates constructive feedback.
  10. Holds an active Property and Casualty Producer License.
  11. Ability to work regular core hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
