FORJAK Industrial is currently seeking a Full-Time Receiving Clerk to join our team. This position is based in our shop and is not a remote job. As our Receiving Clerk you would be responsible for inspecting, receiving, and organizing incoming products and materials accurately.

Duties and Responsibilities

About the Role:

A day in the life: Our Receiving Clerk will have excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills. You would be responsible for inspecting, receiving, and organizing incoming products and materials accurately. You will play a crucial role in preserving the efficiency of our operations by ensuring that all material is in its proper location and is available for use. In addition, you may be required to perform minor material preparations when necessary.


On a given day, as a Receiving Clerk, you will:

  • Ensure that all incoming products and materials are accurate, of high quality, and complete.
  • Examine the FIS, service, and painting documents thoroughly before preparing a pallet with the product and materials according to the document's requirements.
  • Confirm that the items received correspond with the purchase orders, packing slips, and other documentation.
  • Notify the purchasing department of any discrepancies or deficiencies.
  • Maintain an effective receiving area through organization and upkeep.
  • Label and store the received items in the appropriate locations.
  • Ensure that shelves are well-organized and materials are readily available.
  • Prepare materials for use in the field by attaching hoses, labels, or performing minor identification engraving.
  • Maintain precise records of all materials received, including quantities and conditions.
  • Assist with periodic inventory counts in order to maintain accurate stock levels and product quality.
  • Monitor and report on low-stock items in order to facilitate prompt reordering.
  • Picks up products and materials from vendors weekly.
  • Assist with job returns.
  • Assist with other divisions, as needed.
  • Adhere to the company's work safety policies.
  • Other miscellaneous duties, as assigned.


Schedule & Travel:

This is a full-time Monday through Friday position with hours from either 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This department would provide a flexible schedule. Although this department does not travel for work, we have three divisions that operate around the clock, seven days a week. There is a possibility that there may be occasions where you might need to travel and/or modify your schedule based on the requirements of other divisions.

The qualified candidate we seek is a Receiving Clerk with these QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years of experience as a Receiving Clerk preferred or equivalent warehouse experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision.
  • 1-2 years of experience with construction materials and tools.
  • 1-2 years of experience operating material-handling machinery, such as forklifts and pallet jacks preferred. This position must be willing to learn how to drive a forklift as they will become certified, due to their task frequently requiring them to utilize the equipment.
  • Ability to use fundamental computer skills, such as Google Suite or MS Office applications and email.
  • Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance with 1-2 years of experience driving a truck and hauling a trailer.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Basic Material Knowledge: A foundational understanding of construction materials and tools is valuable for accurately identifying and handling various construction-related products.
  • Problem-Solving: The ability to identify and address discrepancies or issues with received materials and propose solutions within the expected timeframe is essential for ensuring a smooth workflow.
  • Basic Math Skills: Competence in basic mathematical calculations is necessary for accurately recording quantities, verifying purchase orders, and managing inventory.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with suppliers, delivery personnel, and internal teams to coordinate deliveries, report discrepancies, and provide updates on received materials.
  • Professionalism: Maintains a professional demeanor, demonstrating dependability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic when interacting with FORJAK, customers, and vendors.
