Junior DevOps Engineer

Alpine Cyber is seeking a skilled Junior DevOps Engineer who is eager to learn about creating infrastructure and deployment pipelines to assist developers and manage operational systems. This resource will be trained around several different technologies such as Linux, Git, Ansible, Terraform, Packer, and Docker. This DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the continued operation and maintenance of a fleet of servers and as such must be a good communicator because they will engage with various stakeholders on a regular basis.

Physical Location:

• Required to regularly work on-site to the Alpine Cyber Solutions office in Pottstown, PA

Responsibilities:

• Own the configuration and management of a fleet of Linux servers with Ansible
• Validate Ansible scripts in pre-production lab environments
• Store code in git, following a proper gitflow methodology
• Assist senior engineers with managing CI/CD pipelines
• Develop automation scripts to minimize repetitive tasks
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues/bugs within deployment and maintenance code
• Optimize pipelines to drive successful and rapid deployment of code
• Configure, deploy and maintain Azure Infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) languages such as Terraform
• Collaborate with peers as a subject matter expert on Cloud, Automation, IaC, SysOps and DevOps
• Automate configuration and management of Linux Servers to run custom built applications using Ansible
• Implement monitoring for cloud and custom applications and tune for optimal performance.
• Automate the maintenance of appropriate patch levels for all software, operating systems and firmware to ensure optimum performance and security compliance
• Assist in the design and implementation of technical architectures that improve performance, user experience and satisfy customers’ business objectives

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong technical acumen
• Critical thinking and problem solving
• Experience with Linux management and operation
• Experience with Ansible
• Knowledge of popular DevOps tools and techniques
• Basic understanding of how to properly leverage Git frameworks (i.e. gitflow, github flow, etc)
• Basic scripting/programming skills in modern languages (i.e. python, javascript, ruby, powershell, etc)
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic understanding of network infrastructures
• Experience directly interacting with customers/developers

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer or Information Science or related field or IT Certification (Network+, Security+, Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Developer, etc) is an added bonus
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) is an added bonus
