Position Purpose & Summary

Assists with the supervision and coordination of the accounting operations for the Garden of the Gods Resort and Club. Actively involved in the daily and monthly accounting processes to include compiling, reviewing, reconciling, preparing, analyzing, and reporting entries for monthly financial statements.


Essential Functions:

  • Reconcile balance sheets on a monthly basis to ensure statements are an accurate picture of the hotel operations,
  • Supervise, monitor and review daily accounting activities including daily account reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, research, credit & collection, daily taxes, payroll, and cash.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly cash flow projections.
  • Timely filing and payment of all monthly tax returns (sales, use, occupancy etc).
  • Maintain internal controls across the property.
  • Deliver "I Am Proud" service standards and department-specific signature touch points.
  • Establish cross-departmental channels of communication among teammates that are consistent and complete.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist with external audits.
    • Monitor, analyze, and provide feedback on key financial performance indicators.
    • Monitor the performance of each department and make recommendations to correct any deficiencies.
    • Serve as an accounting point of contact for resort leadership, department heads, and ownership.
    • Responsible for complete training of accounting staff for job duties.
    • Ensures hotel permits, licenses, and contracts are current.
    • Greet every guest, member, and team member with "I Am Proud" standards and set a positive tone for every interaction.
    • Provide extraordinary service that is "Enriching by Nature."
    • Embrace, embody, demonstrate, and encourage wellness and the STRATA virtues through interactions, performance, and commitments.

Position Requirements:


  1. Minimum Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge of accounting principles, systems and Excel required. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written. Skills in analyzing and reporting financial data.

  1. Formal Education and Job-Related Experience: 4-year college degree (accounting preferred) or equivalent experience (hospitality preferred)
