ModCorr offers rapid, efficient delivery and setup of minimum to maximum security correctional facilities and specialty units. All products are constructed offsite in a controlled environment and conform to the same building codes as traditional construction. ModCorr’s safe, secure and high-quality units comply with all American Correctional Association (ACA) and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
Overview
This position is responsible for managing and developing the estimating process by collecting and studying the data in order to provide accurate cost estimates for projects. This position reports to the VP of Preconstruction. This is an exempt position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review construction plans and understands scope of work
- Estimate projects utilizing company estimating process
- Attend meetings and site visits where appropriate
- Track costs of each project to ensure cost estimating is accurate
- Maintain close relationships to subcontractors for pricing and production changes
- Job cost management to include cost analysis for all labor, equipment and overhead costs incurred during installation
- Collaborates with Project Teams to identify any potential risks for safety or other costs that may become a factor based on individual plans/project
- All other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in estimating
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management preferred
- Prior sales experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills
- Capacity to handle pressure on a daily basis
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to travel to project locations as needed
Physical Demands:
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
- Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
- Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
