This position is primarily responsible for preparing a wide variety of food for residents, employees, and visitors. This position is primarily responsible food quality, standards and presentation. This includes coordinating all aspects of food service, menu adjustment, departmental records, staff training, dining policies and procedures, and communication with other service lines while maintaining a quality level of service. Responsible for cleanliness and proper usage of equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas. Must follow policies regarding sanitation, food handling, safety, confidentiality, personal appearance and hygiene, reporting hazardous conditions and accidents, and attendance at in-service training while maintaining a high level of quality service to residents.


COMPENSATION:

  • The starting base rate of pay for the Leak Cook is $13.10 - $17.03 per hour, based upon previous experiences and qualifications.
  • Monday to Friday 5:00 am to 1:30 pm
  • Every other weekend 5:00 am to 1:30pm
  • Full-time

  • Benefit-eligible employees are eligible for benefits on date of hire
  • Positions scheduled 60+ hours per pay period (every 2 weeks) are eligible for all benefits; positions scheduled 40-59 hours per pay period are eligible for most benefits except medical insurance.

Requirements:

High school graduate or GED equivalent preferred.Must have a minimum of 1 year experience cooking in an institutional food service environment.Must have working knowledge of HACCP and OSHA protocols.Must be detail-oriented, possess basic mathematical skills; be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must be able to act, intervene independently in routine and emergency situations, be self-motivated, participate in holiday activities, and maintain positive relationships with residents and co-workers.Must be able to overtime, holidays, and weekends as scheduled.Must be able to deal tactfully with residents, families, and the general public in a positive, professional, and customer first manner.Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written assignments; ability to perform the duties listed in the job description with limited supervision.Self-motivated, able to schedule time wisely and accommodate changes.Position requires long hours standing, and the ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
