Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) for School-Based Positions in North Carolina

Job Responsibilities (SLP):
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech and language abilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and educational goals.
- Provide direct therapy services using evidence-based practices to address speech, language, fluency, and other communication disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, and other school staff to support students' development and progress.
- Attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute expertise to the development and review of students' educational plans.
Job Responsibilities (SLPA):
- Assist Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in implementing therapy sessions and interventions as outlined in students' treatment plans.
- Provide support during therapy sessions, including managing materials, facilitating activities, and documenting student progress.
- Collaborate with the SLP and other school personnel to ensure the delivery of effective therapy services.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and therapy sessions as the supervising SLP directs.
- Assist in the preparation of materials and resources for therapy sessions and educational activities.
Qualifications:
- For SLP: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) and state licensure are required.
- For SLPA: Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related field. State licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant is required.
- Experience working in a school-based setting is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices and interventions for speech and language disorders.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of job performance.
