Job Description

As an employee of Tony’s Muscle Cars, you will need to have an eye for detail, a great attitude, strong ethics, and the ability to multi-task, all while using your skills and expertise to uphold our company’s morals and principles, as well as adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

The perfect applicant is a highly motivated and seasoned Automotive Upholstery Technician that is proficient in many facets of designing upholstery cover patterns and cutting plans, based on sketches, customer descriptions, or blueprints. This person will make, repair, or replace automobile upholstery and convertible and vinyl tops, using knowledge of fabric and upholstery methods.

Position is located in Hazleton, PA. Relocation assistance will be provided. 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Disassembly of factory seat assemblies, clean, restore, and detail the seat structures.
  • Repair/weld broken or rusty seat frames and springs.
  • Install new seat cover provided from suppliers.
  • Disassembly/removal of convertible tops from vehicles.
  • Clean, restore, and detail the convertible top frame and structures.
  • Install new convertible tops provided by suppliers.
  • Install/replace convertible top spring kits and weather strip kits on the top.
  • Replace, install, and troubleshoot convertible top hydraulic systems to operate the power convertible top.
  • Adjust convertible top assembly to fit the windshield structure and the side windows.
  • Install and adjust side glass to fit car and convertible top.
  • Ability to create templates for custom trunk compartments and cover the templates with the requested material: vinyl, leather, carpeting, etc.
  • Work as a member of assembly group and be assigned different work stations as production needs require.
  • May participate in group meetings to exchange job-related information.
  • Any other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Automotive Upholstery Industry.
  • Wood working and cardboard template design and creation is a HUGE plus for custom trunk compartments and custom interior fabrication.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must be able to work independently, or within a team environment.
  • Must be able to think critically and be flexible to a fast-moving and ever-changing business environment.
  • Must have the ability to maintain a safe environment.
