Summer Camp Staff- Hiring Immediately- Syracuse Area- Project Explore Adult

Exceptional Family Resources is looking for reliable and energetic staff for our summer day camp, supporting adults with developmental disabilities. We are hosting 1 site in Onondaga County this summer in the Syracuse area. Our summer program, Project Explore Adult, is provided for campers aged 20-29 in a 1:2 group setting. There are typically 10-12 campers and 5-6 staff each day of program. Camp runs Monday through Friday, and staff hours are typically 12pm-5:00pm (except for Wednesdays which run 9am-5pm to accommodate longer trips such as to Sea Breeze and Boldt Castle).

Staff and campers have daily opportunities to swim, hike, play games, visit local parks and beaches, explore new locations, and make long-lasting friendships.

Camp runs July 1st - August 23rd, 2024, with multiple trainings at the end of June. No experience is necessary but successful applicants must be energetic, outgoing. Staff are required to provide transportation for campers using their own vehicle and have a vailed driver's license; mileage is reimbursed. Positions start at $16.00. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by June 2024.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old by June 2024
  • Ability to work effectively in a community-based group setting
  • Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills
  • No experience required though experience working with people with disabilities preferred
  • New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required
  • Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community
