Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide care for individuals seeking services in the PHP and Transitional Residential Program. This position works collaboratively with the Integrative Psychiatrist to provide assessment and diagnosis, formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, order laboratory tests, interpret results, provide education, prepare medical records, provide necessary referrals, and on-calls support.
Location: Asheville, NC
Schedule:
- 10-20 hours per week
- Participate in an on-call rotation
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plans
- Collaborate with the Integrative Psychiatrist, clinical staff, and integrative team, residents/members, families, and referral sources
- Provide psychiatric health services, counseling, and emotional support to residents/members
- Issues medication prescriptions in accordance with treatment guidelines
- Provides education regarding medications, risks, benefits, and reasonable outcome expectations
- Provides families and staff consultation around medication and other clinical concerns
Qualifications:
- Master’s of Science in Nursing with a Psychiatric/Mental Health emphasis
- Minimum 5 years of experience assessing, diagnosing, and prescribing medications in a psychotic setting
- Licensed by the State of North Carolina as a NP, ANP, ARNP, or PMHNP
