The Architectural Designer position provides architectural graduates with the opportunity to gain experience by producing documents, drawings, and deliverables for a variety of clientele and project types. While the designer will be focused on the creation of architectural documents and drawings, they will have opportunities to learn and develop crucial skills and techniques for a successful career at Studio+. In many instances, the designer brings energy and creativity to the studio. Designers at Studio+ will constantly be learning, challenged by their team members with the objective of rapid career growth by instilling confidence in others that they can handle any task or responsibility thrown their way.

Qualifications
  • Zero to three (3) years of experience in the role of Architectural Designer or a comparable entry-level position.
  • Preferred candidates should hold a Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch), Master of Architecture (M. Arch) from an accredited institution.
  • Intent to aggressively pursue licensure is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel. Studio+ was an early adopter of BIM and uses Revit on all projects.
  • Additional drafting, illustration, and rendering experience is recommended.
  • Ability to engage in a collaborative workplace, which may involve working alongside fellow architects and maintaining professional relationships with clients.

Tasks outlined, but not limited to those listed:

  • Architectural drafting and BIM modeling that represent Studio+’s expertise and design intent to clients, contractors, and engineers.
  • Organized documentation of all correspondence with Studio+ project team, engineers, and vendors.
  • Coordination with engineers while maintaining BIM files throughout the life of the project.
  • Coordinate with project team to assemble completed sets of documents and assist in their distribution.
  • Develop clear and detailed reports, responses, and specifications as directed. Including but not limited to field reports, meeting minutes, bulletins/narratives, FGI/code analysis, submittals/shop drawings, AHJ comment responses.
  • Assemble drawings for QA/QC review and assist in submittal and RFI processes.
  • Transmitting documents to clients, contractors, and engineers as required.
  • Develop computer generated renderings
  • Researching and resolving code issues, implementing solutions as applicable.
  • Coordinate with printing company to ensure delivery of documents for compliance with project deliverables.
  • Accurately document, inspect, and field measure projects involving existing buildings to guarantee accuracy in future drawings.
  • Understand production requirements, phasing, and budget tracking necessary for project success and profitability.
  • Tasks are performed under the general supervision of Project Coordinator/Architect and Project Manager.
