B&B Manufacturing Inc., an ISO9001 company, produces and distributes custom and standard synchronous drive products that include timing belts, timing belt pulleys, roller chain sprockets, gears and related parts for the power transmission and precision mechanical component industries. We supply distributors and manufacturers with thousands of various components.

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on, IT Manager for a multi-site, rapidly growing business. The IT Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining all the communication, networking, and workstation needs of B&B Manufacturing, Inc. Multitasking, positive communication style, professionalism, and the ability to work with internal and external customers and suppliers are vital to this role. Application Development and management is a strong PLUS.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordinating, planning, and leading all IT related activities at B&B.
  • Determines IT needs and implement systems to fulfill the organization's information systems requirements:
  • Manages all IT, security, communications, and audio-visual support needs of the organization.
  • Purchase, install, configure, maintain, and support equipment, including the following:
  • Servers (file, application, remote access, etc.)
  • Network (local and wide area) including port forwarding, access control, flow, VPNs, and firewalls
  • Backup and archiving of data (Servers and key workstations)
  • Internet connectivity
  • Telephone (VOIP and cellular) and fax systems
  • Workstations (file, applications, user configurations, etc.)
  • Printers, scanners, and other workstation accessories
  • Security includes Door Access Control and Video Surveillance systems.

Manage, monitor, and evaluate the different activities related to computer systems by doing the following:

  • Monitor all systems for capacity and operational efficiency issues
  • Support and coordinate IT infrastructure for maximum availability
  • Proactively troubleshoot IT infrastructure related issues
  • Diagnose and provide solutions to recurring problems that require special attention
  • Determine the practicality of changes and modification of systems
  • Save and secure data and software
  • Ensure efficient working of all IT equipment and hardware
  • Monitor and ensure compliance to all standards and policies
  • Communicate system/technical concerns as required
  • Coordinate the installation of new IT infrastructure hardware/software; install, test, and monitor the operation of system hardware and software; configure hardware and software to meet business needs
  • Develop, implement, and communicate IT security standards and protocols
  • Provide server support and maintenance; use various utilities to troubleshoot, repair, and check configuration of servers
  • Maintain various records and documentation for department computer systems
  • Interpret and apply information from technical manuals; communicate on technical issues with individuals with varying degrees of computer familiarity

Qualifications/Skill Set

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the following:
  • Server and networking concepts and solutions
  • Functions and operations of computers
  • Commercial computer software including Exchange, Sharepoint, Group Policies, and SQL
  • Local and wide area networks (LANs & WANs), including hardware/software installation
  • General principles of office automation, and computer systems analysis
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and organize efforts and accomplish objectives
  • Familiar with managing and supporting all phases of application development
  • Initiative, self-discipline, a positive attitude and strong work ethic with attention given to detail. Adept at problem solving; able to respond to unforeseen events that can have a direct impact on services to users
  • Demonstrates ability to learn, adapt and improvise to new technology quickly
  • Possesses experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, environment

Education / Certification / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related major (preferred)
  • 10 years progressive experience in IT systems
  • Knowledge of SQL and/or ERP software
  • Possess appropriate professional credentials
  • Microsoft Server Certification (preferred)
  • Network Certification (preferred)
  • CompTia A+
  • CompTia Network+
  • CompTia Security+
  • Evidence of staying professionally current
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and orally communicating with the English language
