Job DescriptionJob Description

The Maintenance Technician owns the service and maintenance of all plant-wide equipment maintenance within our facility located in the El Paso area.You will work closely with all departments to ensure equipment maintenance needs are addressed. This is night shift from 11:30pm to 8am.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure manufacturing equipment is online and safe to operate at all times
  • Execute preventative maintenance plans that are set for each piece of equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns, determine root-cause and potential solutions, execute repairs
  • Responsible for the preventative-maintenance, repair and upgrades to processing equipment.
  • Performing necessary equipment repairs in a safe and timely fashion; Follow all documented SOPs, LOTOs procedures, and Manufacturers Instructions when performing routine maintenance or emergency repairs
  • Execute installation of new equipment from delivery to fully operational status.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, technical repair manuals and other documentation/literature necessary to facilitate the repair or replacement of equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of plumbing, electrical, vacuum and pneumatic systems, heating and cooling systems, as they pertain to processing equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of how to safely use/operate common hand tools, power tools and other specialty tools, as required to complete tasks (ie, soldering iron, pipe cutters, drills, band saw, table saws, welders, etc)
  • Provide input into SOPs and future maintenance programs or equipment/system upgrades
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces in accordance with 6S program
  • Establish and maintain positive working-relationships with service vendors to ensure services are performed within reasonable budget and timeframe and meet all requested deliverables
  • Ensure service or material purchases are in alignment with documented Purchasing procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of equipment maintenance, preferably in manufacturing facility
  • Knowledge of and prior maintenance experience with thermal processing equipment, heating elements, and chiller/heat exchanger systems strongly preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills
  • Experience managing day-to-day workplace operations
  • Skilled in planning and budgeting; ability to do cost analysis and negotiate with vendors
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to work well with all levels in the organization from team members and contractors through upper management.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and positive personality
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as in team situations.
  • Must follow all safety and maintenance codes of compliance, also including but not limited to PPE
  • Proficient knowledge of computers and technology, includingMS Office
  • Regular attendance
  • High quality and accuracy of work; impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to balance and handle multiple assignments (quantity of work)
  • Timeliness of work
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to work outside of standard workday, when needed, for emergency repairs
