Production Lead Technician- 2nd Shift

Job DescriptionJob Description

The Production Lead Technician assists with troubleshooting and assures all equipment maintains quality standards and efficiency. This position will be reporting to the Shift Supervisor and will serve as a backup in their absence. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)

Essential Position Functions:

  • Assist or oversee trouble shooting envelope equipment.
  • Meet with the supervisor daily to discuss any problems and recommend any changes necessary.
  • Assist machine adjusters with machine repairs.
  • Manage and direct multiple teams.
  • Maintain production above running standards.
  • Study and recommend changes to improve methods for maintenance of the folding machines.
  • Assist adjusters in determining if any Maintenance personnel are necessary for completing a task.
  • Brings any scheduling concerns to the Supervisor’s attention.
  • Use parts drawing manuals to locate parts and materials needed for envelope equipment in MP2.
  • Measure and inspect specifications of envelope for quality checks and job approval.
  • Training of new hires (Adjusters, Operators, Packers)
  • Communicate with support teams (Graphics, Customer Service, Scheduling)
  • Fulfill certain Shift Supervisor’s duties in their absence.
  • Full responsibility for the quality of the product produced within the shift in line with company QC procedures and processes.
  • Full responsibility for shift management including Safety, Quality and Production targets and the efficient running of the production process.
  • Ensures that effective communication is given either verbally or written to all shift employees.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe work environment.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of envelope machinery (627s, RA, SWs, 202s)
  • Must have intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills.
  • Must be able to efficiently use a Windows-based computer.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communications skills.
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English, for safe and effective performance of the job and business operations.
  • Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

Work Environment

  • Employee works primarily in a fast-paced manufacturing / warehouse environment.
  • Excessive noise environment. Hearing, Eye and Feet protection is required and provided.
