Our philosophy, is simply to provide the best that Minnesota has to offer.  Madden's is currently seeking a Pastry Chef who is a passionate, hardworking individual that is interested in elevating the bakery offerings in our restaurants, banquets, and coffee shop.  Previous experience in a high volume, mulit-unit operation a must.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create and prepare all pastry items as required at the resort including breads, pastries, rolls, cookies, cakes, pies, and all resort dessert offerings
• Create presentation designs for banquets and a la carte restaurants
• Responsible for ordering all bakery products
• Work with resort planners and guests on specialty orders including wedding cakes
• Create, incorporate, and execute new recipes from scratch
• Work with F&B Teams to create unique, high quality dessert menus for each outlet
• Adhere to all health and safety standards and ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times
• Hire, train, and develop bakery team
• Keep within budgeted parameters in regards to labor and food costs
• Maintain up to date knowledge about pastry arts and ingredients

Competencies:

• 5 plus years experience working as a pastry chef in a high volume, multi unit fast-paced kitchen environment
• Great interpersonal and leadership skills with a focus on teamwork
• Confident culinary techniques and skills, culinary degree a plus
• Good sense of planning and preparation for the day and week ahead
• Diligent and meticulous in placing and receiving product orders
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Punctual and discipline to ensure optimal work performance

Physical Demands:   

• Regularly stands for extended periods, generally the majority of the shift. Regularly lifts up to 25pounds. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
