Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Divisional ControllerPurpose of Position: As a pivotal member of management, the Divisional Controller oversees the financial performance of the division and provides essential financial analysis and guidance to the General Manager.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Analyze financial reports, forecast cash flow, and develop innovative financial strategies to achieve revenue goals.
- Evaluate financial performance and prepare comprehensive profit and loss statements.
- Recommend various financial options to support business objectives.
- Identify financial risks and devise effective action plans.
- Negotiate financial terms with customers as needed.
- Manage log procurement accounting and conduct cost and supply adequacy analyses.
- Assist the sales team by evaluating profitability across different cutting programs.
- Support budget preparation and oversee expense management activities.
- Collaborate with management on financial analysis and operational planning.
- Prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial reports to management.
- Maintain and enhance accounting controls, suggesting improvements to current procedures.
- Coordinate with auditors during financial audits.
- Provide guidance to financial staff when necessary.
- Conduct month-end reconciliations and oversee account closing processes.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss financial results and address issues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
- May require travel to other divisions within the United States.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, team-building, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion, judgment, and build strong relationships.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in financial analysis.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to thrive in dynamic business environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in a major company or division of a large corporation.
- Preference given to candidates with a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Office environment.
