Job Description: Piece Rate Roofer

Reports To: Crew leader/Supervisor

Classification: Non-Exempt

General Description:

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Field Roofing Piece Workers to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing roofing installations and repairs on residential and commercial properties. The position is piece work-based and will require working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

Duties:

  • Render support in the Installation of roofing systems
  • Removal of roofing applications on hand
  • Putting in liquid and multi-layered roof coatings/applications
  • Apply an understanding of safety as it applies to the roofing trade
  • Responsible for utilizing, holding, or supplying materials or tools during projects
  • Take out old roofing materials
  • Clean work area and equipment, set ladders, scaffolds, and hoists in place for taking supplies to roofs
  • Prepare the roofs for the application of new roofing materials
  • Responsible for taking down materials and tools from work trucks and unroll roofing as directed
  • Maintain tools and equipment pre and after work
  • Set up safety-related equipment to protect the project site
  • Safely transporting all required equipment and materials to job sites.
  • Complete other duties at the discretion of management.

Requirements:

  • Must follow Fall Protection/Safety Regulations
  • The ability to lift heavy materials and tools, etc. at a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • The ability to use powered hand tools.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders.
  • Ability to withstand different climates (extreme heat and other weather).
  • Ability to see.
  • Ability to hear.
  • Ability to communicate audibly with others.
  • Significant Balance – work is done on slopes and flat roofs.
  • No fear of heights.
  • Dependability – jobs must be completed within certain timeframes, so workers must be able to fulfill obligations.­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­

This position is piece work-based, with compensation determined by the volume and quality of work completed. Our rates are competitive and commensurate with experience.
