Established in 2012, Talk and Play Associates is a locally-owned pediatric therapy practice, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Our practice is dedicated to providing the highest quality Speech, Language, and Occupational Therapies for children and their families. We are committed to being a family-centered practice. Our goal at Talk and Play Associates is to help children develop meaningful everyday interactions while supporting families along the journey.
We are proud to offer a highly-educated and experienced team with diverse clinical backgrounds. Evaluations and therapies are provided in our clean and joyful clinic-based setting. We believe families are a very important part of the therapy process. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to implement home programs and support their child’s growth beyond our scheduled sessions.
Talk and Play is currently looking for an excellent and compassionate full-time Occupational Therapist available to work Monday through Thursday, including after school hours. Please include a cover letter with your therapeutic philosophy and why you feel pediatric therapy is the setting for you. Compensation is to be discussed.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients and establish treatment goals, completing all required documentation.
- Create home programming
- Implement standardized tests and use clinical observations for accurate diagnosis and treatment
- Facilitate referrals internally and externally as warranted
- Update patient progress to relevant parties
- Work with Speech Language Pathologists to co-treat, as needed
- Supervision of a full-time COTA
Qualifications:
- NBCOT Certification
- AOTA Membership (Strongly Recommended)
- Hold or be eligible for Colorado DORA certification
- Experience with pre-school and school-age developmental delays
- Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Positive and patient demeanor
- Confident interacting with families
- Good energy, well organized, and flexible
