We believe that when we are at our best, we provide the most value to our clients and our teammates respectively.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAs our engineering department continues to grow, RISCPoint is seeking a skilled Full Stack Engineer with a strong background in secure software development and compliance frameworks. You will be a key member of the RISCPoint Team, responsible for developing and maintaining secure applications that adhere to various compliance standards.
Responsibilities include:
  • Architect, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js) for front-end and Python for back-end development.
  • Develop and secure backend services and APIs.
  • Integrate security controls and best practices throughout the development process, including input validation, output encoding, and secure session management.
  • Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms, such as OAuth 2.0 and JWT, ensuring compliance with relevant security standards.
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites, including unit tests, integration tests, and security-focused tests.
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines that incorporate security scanning and compliance checks.
  • Conduct code reviews with a focus on both code quality and security best practices.
  • Implement logging and monitoring solutions to support security auditing and incident response.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of secure cloud infrastructure using IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Participate in threat modeling sessions and incorporate identified security controls into application design.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, API specifications, and security-related documentation for compliance audits.
  • Stay current with emerging web technologies, security threats, and compliance requirements, applying this knowledge to improve our development practices.
Note: This position is 100% remote.QUALIFICATIONSEducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, or a related field, or combination of relevant education and equivalent work experience.Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-stack development, with a focus on security and compliance.
  • Experience building applications that comply with industry standards such as SOC2, HITRUST (HIPAA), and FedRAMP (NIST 800-53).
  • Understanding of SDLC & SSDLC principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
  • Knowledgeable in both front-end and back-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, Python, React).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their security features.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Certifications
  • At least one relevant certification such as: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), or other relevant security/development certifications.
  • Additional cloud or compliance-related certifications are a plus.
SKILLS
  • Proficiency in Python, including web frameworks like Django or Flask
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) and frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js)
  • Experience with RESTful API design and implementation
  • Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Proficiency in version control systems, particularly Git
  • Strong understanding of web security principles and best practices
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their security features
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC2, HITRUST, FedRAMP)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills
