  • Verify insurance coverage of each patient.
  • Handle payment for service not covered by insurance.
  • Explain coverages to patients.
  • Obtain referrals for patients when they are not covered by insurance.
  • Update patient information/keeping records.
Insurance Verification Specialist’s Qualifications
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required; An associate degree is highly recommended.
  • Two (2) years of insurance verification or medical billing experience with knowledge of CPT and HCPCS coding is required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Essential knowledge of medical terminology is required.
  • Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and time management skills are required.

  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with no weekends.
