JOB SUMMARY:  The individual in this role is responsible for the keep stock of the maintenance repair supplies, and all departmental buying for the facility through PO’s and credit card purchases. Individual will check inventory levels, order supplies and parts as needed, match invoices to packing slips for payment and processing to A/P, and is responsible for using electronic ERP system for expense and inventory reporting.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Utilize mechanical expertise to accurately identify and procure MRO materials, equipment, and parts required for maintenance and repair activities.
  • Collaborate closely with maintenance technicians and engineers to understand equipment specifications, troubleshoot issues, and determine optimal replacement parts.
  • Maintain and update computerized inventory control system including adding/editing inventory control system including adding/editing inventoried item data and electronically linking parts to equipment
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure high-quality MRO items at competitive prices, while ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Manage inventory levels of MRO supplies, implementing efficient stocking strategies to minimize downtime and ensure adequate availability of critical parts.
  • Analyze purchasing data and performance metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities, streamline processes, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Pull expense and inventory reporting from ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) system inventory to send to department managers.
  • Review and analyze daily and weekly reports to check service levels and monitor Keep Stock levels, make adjustments as need on our VMI programs and manage the VMI programs
  • Perform routine cycle counts and physical inventories
  • Prepare purchase orders for inventoried items based on cycle count and min/max order triggers and requests
  • Buy for all departments; perform P.O. and credit card buying
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with suppliers and resolve supplier questions and complaints
  • Participate in the training and development of others as necessary or directed
  • Research parts for procurement when needed and multiple when possible for prices
  • Participate in meetings on MRO purchasing and inventory management


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Experience managing inventory levels and expense reporting in a computer based ERP or CMMS system.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills are needed with a strong understanding of Excel
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Demonstrate basic math skills (add subtract multiply divide quickly and accurately)
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Self- directed with the ability to work effectively under pressure and stress
  • Ability to understand and communicate work instructions in English


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:

  • Position may require repetitive movement, bending and twisting, using hands to handle objects; exposure to sustained noise levels; working in very hot temperatures; exposure to hazards such as machinery, slippery floors, ladders and powered industrial vehicles. May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Able to work in an environment containing nuts, peanuts, dairy, grains and other allergens
  • Primarily a day shift position with occasional overtime; must be willing to work some off hours and weekends if necessary
