We are a company that provides care giver services to individuals who are developmentally disabled. All our group homes are in the Bloomington, MN area.

We have an opening for a Full Time float staff - Monday -Friday 7am-3pm. 7am-9am will be at one specific group home working to get the residents ready for the day. 9:30-3pm would be at various other group homes in the Bloomington area, depending on need.

The candidate for this position must have a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle.

What do Connections Direct Support Professionals do?

DSPs provide a variety of services to our residents, and duties vary from program to program, but may include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing care giver services to our residents in our group homes, including personal cares when appropriate and necessary
  • Teaching and maintaining skills
  • Cooking and feeding assistance
  • Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities
  • Participating in the development of Individual Program Plans
  • Medication administration
  • And participating in fun recreational activities with residents

What skills do care givers need?

  • High School diploma (or equivalent) and over the age of 18, we will provide all of the training that you need to provide high-quality care to our residents. We would like our float staff to have at least 1 year of previous DSP experiece.
  • DSPs are people-oriented – they assist individuals with their care giver skills, provide Home Services, and strive to improve their quality of life
  • Care givers are adaptable and flexible – they enjoy doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction that keep their work day interesting
  • They are dependable – provide efficient and exemplary personal care assistance

PART TIME/FULLTIME/WEEKEND HOURS AVAILABLE


Wage: $19.00 / hr for float position

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • 1 year experience as a Direct Support Professional or similar
  • Willingness to provide personal cares
  • Ability to pass a DHS background check
  • Valid US driver’s license, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle
  • Basic computer skills

Pay Frequency:
Biweekly
