Our client has an immediate need for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Complex and Catastrophic Injury Litigation Paralegal to join their legal team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting two (2) partners in complex litigation cases, specifically those involving catastrophic injuries. Our client is a big believer in work-life balance and value the importance of family, making it a priority alongside your professional responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Legal Research: Conduct comprehensive legal research on complex and catastrophic injury cases to gather relevant information, precedents, and statutes.
  2. Case Management: Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible for attorneys.
  3. Document Preparation: Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses, and ensure their accuracy and compliance with court rules.
  4. Discovery Assistance: Assist in the management of discovery processes, including document review, production, and tracking of responses.
  5. Witness and Expert Coordination: Coordinate with witnesses and experts, scheduling interviews, depositions, and trial appearances as necessary.
  6. Trial Preparation: Assist in trial preparation by preparing exhibits, coordinating with witnesses, and assisting with courtroom logistics.
  7. Legal Support: Provide administrative support to attorneys, such as scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and managing correspondence.
  8. Stay Current: Stay informed about developments in personal injury law, especially as it pertains to complex and catastrophic injuries.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification from an accredited institution.
  • Previous experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably with a focus on complex and catastrophic injury cases.
  • Strong knowledge of legal research methods and tools.
  • Proficiency in legal software and case management systems.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal team.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
