Pacific Coast Producers (PCP), a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, is seeking an experienced and talented Boiler Mechanic to join its team at its Production Facility in Lodi, CA. Our Lodi Production facility is a bustling hub where delicious apples, peaches, and apricots are transformed into high-quality products. The facility is equipped with advanced machinery and cutting-edge technology, enabling efficient and precise sorting, peeling, and slicing of the fruits. Meticulous attention is paid to every step of the process, ensuring that only the finest fruits make their way into the final products.
Pay Rate: $36.84 per hour. Full time/40 hours per week with some weekend and overtime hours required when needed. This position is part of a seniority based collective bargaining unit and require work on various shifts with potential for a great deal of overtime during the processing season.
Primary job duties would include:
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on boilers and related equipment
- Make water and stack analyses
- Roll in boiler tubes
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with boilers and related systems
- Make recommendations for repairs, replacements, and upgrades as needed
- Lubricate, clean and paint equipment and other maintenance equipment as needed.
- Install new equipment and systems as required
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed
- Participate in safety training programs and adhere to all safety protocols
- Consult with supervision on needed repairs or changes.
- Operate and maintain water softening and water treatment equipment.
- Responsible for maintenance and operating of the air compressed generation.
- May repair or replace steam and water valves throughout the plant.
- Provide support to other areas of maintenance as needed.
- Locate, line up and anchor machinery.
- Weld, including heliarc and stainless steel.
- May operate a forklift.
- Other duties as assigned .
Job Requirements:
- Satisfactorily completed a related educational degree, certificate, or program; and/or comparable work experience, plus formal training in this area; and
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervision and production personnel.
- May be required to have license to operate boilers.
- Tolerant of unique, perhaps demanding, industrial working conditions.
- Committed to safety and food safety, including use of appropriate protective equipment.
- Availability to work weekend and overtime during our harvest season (July-October).
