Staff Accountant

General Responsibilities:As a Staff Accountant at CLN Worldwide, you will be instrumental in maintaining our financial records by accurately recording all day-to-day financial transactions. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this role demands a strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles, the ability to work independently, multitask in a fast-paced environment, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.You will collaborate closely with various departments within CLN Worldwide to gather necessary information for accurate financial reporting. Additionally, you will assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, working with other team members to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
Evaluation Period:The first 90 days of your tenure will serve as an assessment period to evaluate your accounting skills. During this time, we'll be looking for the following:1. Performing transactional accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, credit card receipt collection, matching credit card transactions with shipments, and coding overhead transactions.2. Reconciling bank accounts, credit card statements, and other balance sheet accounts.3. Ensuring all accounts are accurately coded and posted to the proper accounts.4. Preparing monthly journal entries and adjusting general ledger accounts as needed.5. Assisting in month-end and year-end closing processes.6. Providing outside auditors with necessary account information and documents for the annual audit.7. Assisting in creating overhead payments in preparation for payment.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.2. Experience in an accounting role at a 3PL or logistics company highly preferred.3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.4. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.5. Knowledge of general financial accounting.6. Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).7. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Compensation:$25.00 USD per hour
Benefits:Following the evaluation period, Health/Dental/Vision care will be provided as per the company plan, along with 18 days of PTO per year. Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage details are as follows:1. Medical: CLN pays 100% for the employee.2. Dental: CLN pays 50% for the employee; the cost to the employee is minimal.3. Vision: CLN pays 0%; the cost to the employee is minimal.4. Life Insurance: Coverage is 2x annual salary, minimum $200K; CLN pays 100%.
